As of February 1, 2008, the Tatum Survey of Business Conditions indicated that the overall U.S. economy is in a negative-growth phase which is likely to continue for the first quarter of the calendar year. In particular, the sixty-day outlook for near-term deliveries of products and services took a "significant dive." On the other hand, business spending has held up better than consumer spending, with technology remaining relatively strong.
Each month the executive services firm Tatum surveys its nationwide professionals regarding economic and business conditions. Located in 33 offices across the U.S., Tatum is the nation's largest executive services firm serving more than 3,000 companies in a variety of industries.
