Jeremy Siegel: The Equity Market Has Bottomed, the Economy Will Recover
In his recent review of the first quarter of 2009, Wharton Professor Jeremy Siegel stated that "the lows of the equity market have been hit and that the economy will recover in the third quarter." His observations included:
- Lower mortgage rates and attractive affordability should stabilize housing
- Stocks' valuations are very inexpensive
- Equity markets tend to rebound strongly after deep bear markets
