Current managing partner of Traxis Partners and former chief global strategist for Morgan Stanley, Barton Biggs recently wrote in Newsweek his reasoning for a "50 percent probability" of better days for the economy and stock markets:

  • Powerful monetary and fiscal stimuli will have positive effects
  • Bad news is priced into the markets
  • Stocks' valuations are cheap
  • When everyone is bearish and has acted accordingly, it is right to be gradually buying
