The Elderly and Financial Decision-Making

Dr. David Laibson, economics professor at Harvard, recently addressed the ignored topic of cognitive decline among the elderly and its consequences for their financial decision-making abilities.  According to Laibson, about half of the population in their 80s, who are at risk for abuse and fraud, suffers from significant cognitive impairment.
