Q&A on Midterm Election Results

    Republicans have won a majority of Senate seats and have added to their majority in the House. The larger than expected Republican majority in the Senate is likely to facilitate passage of a few Republican-supported measures such as approval of the Keystone pipeline, but broader policy changes would still need Democratic support. We continue to expect corporate tax reform to be a key focus over the coming year, but we expect less action on several other high-profile issues like immigration reform or long-term deficit reduction efforts.
