W. Eric Overbey, Manager
Eric is a Manager at Innovest and is a member Innovest’s Investment Committee, which makes decisions on investment related research and due diligence. He is also a member of the firm’s Due Diligence Group, responsible for both qualitative and quantitative manager due diligence and the Capital Markets Research Group, responsible for asset allocation studies and portfolio construction. Additional responsibilities include performance measurement, maintaining database accuracy, topical research, and special projects.
Eric graduated from Washburn University where he earned a BBA in Finance and Accounting. While in school, Eric was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He specialized in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense, as well as earned promotions to his role as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge/ Platoon Sergeant. Prior to joining Innovest, he worked for CoreFirst Bank & Trust. His responsibilities at CoreFirst consisted of consumer lending, credit analysis, credit protection sales, depository product sales, and Certificate of Deposit product comparison. Eric passed the Level 3 exam of the Chartered Financial Analyst program in June 2010 and his charter is currently pending work experience.
In his free time, Eric enjoys hiking and snowshoeing throughout the Rocky Mountain region. In addition, he has recently joined the CFA Society of Colorado as an affiliate member.
