Faith-Based Innoviews Nonprofit Spotlight – 2Q25
Five18 Services
Five18 Family Services is a faith-based nonprofit located in Lynchburg, Virginia, dedicated to supporting vulnerable families and children through a variety of restorative services. Formerly known as Patrick Henry Family Services, the organization is grounded in the biblical principle of reconciliation, as reflected in its name derived from 2 Corinthians 5:18.
The organization’s primary services include family care programs, accessible counseling, therapeutic youth camps, and community engagement efforts. These services are designed to strengthen family units, provide emotional and mental health support, and ensure children remain in safe, stable environments. Family care services focus on crisis intervention, parenting support, kinship placements, and short-term respite care, all aimed at preventing unnecessary separation from families. Their counseling programs offer professional mental health services at little to no cost, making them accessible to all community members.
Five18 also operates adventure-based programs, such as summer camps and outdoor retreats, to promote resilience and personal growth among youth. In addition, its Connect Team partners with local churches and volunteers to identify community needs and distribute resources effectively.
Five18 is sustained through private donations, allowing it to offer services that align closely with its three-core mission, including Christ-Centered Compassion. Their long-term vision, known as “Vision30,” aspires to ensure that by the year 2030, every child in the surrounding region will be safe within their own family or a supported caregiving community.
