At our founding in 1996, Innovest recognized the challenges facing retirement plan sponsors and participants and was compelled to bring forward innovative solutions. We set out to provide expert retirement plan consulting as a fiduciary, on a clear, transparent fee-only basis.  We intentionally broke the pattern of hidden, confusing, opaque and often excessive mutual fund revenue sharing as the method of compensating advisors and recordkeepers. We saw misaligned incentives and expensive retirement plans as a source of diminished opportunity for participants to successfully and adequately save and invest for retirement. We brought together, in a single company, experts in retirement plan compliance, plan design, fiduciary governance, recordkeeping, education, and investment due diligence to create a truly comprehensive retirement plan consulting firm.

In 2005, we were tabbed as an expert witness in one of the nation’s highest profile fiduciary breach cases. We have since consulted and provided testimony on 70+ significant, precedent-setting cases, having witnessed both the good and bad of retirement plan governance. Along the way we have learned firsthand how we can best protect our clients under the watchful eyes of plaintiff class-action attorneys.
