Employee Spotlight: Denise Rice
1. Where is your hometown?
I was born in Chadron, Nebraska, but grew up in Lafayette, Colorado, so I’m very much a local gal. I’ve since ventured all the way to Broomfield, which is a whopping five miles south!
2. Tell us something unique about you.
Creativity has always been a joy of mine, especially when it comes to beauty in our living spaces. I love arranging flowers and decorating, and after earning my AAS in Interior Design, I spent several years designing model homes. I later transitioned into education, working at three universities over the course of about 13 years. That chapter eventually led me to homeschool my children and my niece for 20 wonderful years.
3. What do you like best about working at Innovest?
Working at Innovest has been incredibly fulfilling, largely because of the exceptional people I work alongside. Each person brings such high intellectual ability and strong character. It truly is a pleasure to spend my days with such a remarkable team.
4. How do you give back to the community?
Outside of work, I’m deeply involved in my church community at Luke Orthodox Church in Erie, Colorado, where I sing in the choir and have been an active member of the prayer team for the past 14 years
5. What are your hobbies and interests?
I love the outdoors and enjoy spending as much time as possible hiking with my family. We especially treasure family trips to Utah, where we hike and rappel through slot canyons together.
6. Tell us about your family.
I’m blessed with a wonderful family that includes three adult children (and their spouses). My husband of 35 years and I share our home with my 86‑year‑old mother, my sister, and her daughter. We greatly value our time together, and every Christmas evening we carry on a cherished tradition, indulging in a brand‑new murder mystery.
