Cheryl Wilks, CPFA™
Associate Consultant
Cheryl is an Associate Consultant on the Retirement Plan Team, bringing more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience across the financial services industry. In her current role, she provides strategic oversight for retirement plan administration, leads complex Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, directs participant education initiatives, and evaluates and benchmarks retirement plans to support fiduciary best practices and client outcomes. Cheryl is an active member of the Retirement Plan Practice Group, a specialized team that identifies best practices and implements process improvements to maximize efficiency for our retirement plan clients.
Prior to joining Innovest, Cheryl held a series of senior leadership roles with nationally recognized financial institutions. She served as Vice President and Managing Director at Boettcher & Company in Denver, where she oversaw an equity and options discretionary portfolio program and provided strategic leadership for client investment solutions. She later joined Kemper Securities Group in Chicago as Vice President, managing the firm’s National Options Trading Desk and leading national trading operations at a national level.
After returning to Denver, Cheryl joined Charles Schwab & Company as a Manager in the Active Trader Division, where she led a brokerage team serving retirement accounts and high-net-worth clients, focusing on risk management, service excellence, and operational leadership. She subsequently spent several years with Nuveen in a senior marketing role, contributing to business development and strategic positioning initiatives. In addition, Cheryl served as Vice President and Executive Director of a local foundation dedicated to helping Colorado high school graduates secure funding for higher education, further reflecting her commitment to leadership and community impact.
Cheryl studied Business Administration at the University of Colorado Boulder with an emphasis on Finance. She holds the Series 65 license as a Registered Investment Adviser Representative and earned the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA™) designation from the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
Outside of her professional career, Cheryl values time with her family and remains actively involved in creative and community-oriented pursuits. She is an avid skier, a devoted Broncos fan, and enjoys spending time hiking.
