Eric Koeplin, CKA®, MBA
Principal & Director
Eric is a Principal at Innovest and the Director of Wealth Management Opportunities for the firm. He is also a member of the Innovest Investment Committee, which drives the firm’s investment-related research and due diligence.
Eric began his career as an investment research analyst and was fortunate to collaborate with industry leaders such as Dimensional Fund Advisors and Nobel laureate Eugene Fama. Eric then served as a financial consultant to senior executives, including several Fortune 500 CEOs. Eric founded The Milestone Group in 1996, building the firm to over $2 billion in assets under management. He later chaired the Investment Committee at AdvicePeriod, overseeing $4 billion in client assets. Before joining Innovest, he founded Alpha Principle in 2022, advancing a disciplined, value-oriented investment philosophy and a purpose-driven approach for families. He has been recognized by Barron’s as a Top Financial Advisor from 2014 to 2017, and as a Top Independent Financial Advisor from 2008 to 2012.
Eric holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business. He is a former board member at Colorado Uplift and Economic Literacy Colorado and now serves on the Board of Directors for ACE Scholarships. Eric is also a current member and prior board member of YPO, a global leadership community driven by the belief that the world needs better leaders. At Innovest, he brings decades of experience and a relationship-driven commitment to serving families. He is a long-time Colorado resident now living in Castle Pines Village with his wife and daughter.
