Abigail Thomas | associate director of operations

Abigail is a member of the Retirement Plan Practice Group, a specialized team that identifies best practices and implements process improvements to better serve our retirement plan clients.  Abigail helps manage these processes and assists in Innovest’s retirement plan efforts including completing Request for Proposals for clients, evaluating and benchmarking plans and service providers. She is a member of the Due Diligence Group, responsible for independently sourcing investment managers, as well as monitoring recommended products and strategies. The group works in conjunction with Innovest’s Investment Committee. Abigail’s responsibilities also include designing and building performance reports and conducting participant education.

Abigail successfully earned the Retirement Plan Fundaments Certificate awarded by ASPPA and holds the Series 65 License (Registered Investment Adviser Representative) through FINRA.

Abigail graduated magna cum laude from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) with a Bachelor of Science in finance and a minor in economics.  During her time there, she participated in the Student and Foundation Fund (SAFF) class. The SAFF class contains student-managed portfolios comprised of different assets totaling more than $2 million. This class provides students with the unique opportunity to gain real-world experience by actively managing portfolios, diligently analyzing securities, and precisely following IPS guidelines. Upon completion of the class, students present to the Foundation Board and discuss the successes and lessons learned throughout the semester. Additionally, she contributed to the Daniels Fund at UNC, another student-managed fund that invests in socially-responsible companies. Abigail was a mentor for the Big Idea Project.

While at UNC, Abigail was a member of various collegiate instrumental music groups.  She now teaches percussion at Littleton High School and at Black Diamond Percussion, an independent winter drumline in Colorado Springs.  Abigail is an avid Colorado Rockies fan and enjoys cooking and spending time with her two cats.
