Employee Spotlight: Joanne Cinalli

  1. Where is your hometown?

I was born in Northeast Philadelphia and lived in the city until I was 12.  My family relocated to Southampton, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia, in 1984.  I moved to Colorado with my husband in 1998, just before we celebrated our first wedding anniversary.

  2. Tell us something unique about you.

To honor my late mother, who passed away from cancer when she was 49 and to celebrate my 50th birthday, I participated in 10 5Ks and coined the hashtag #50kfor50yrs. I finished my final race on October 9th, 3 weeks before my 50th birthday.

  3. What do you like best about working at Innovest?

Though I appreciate everyone, I truly love working with the newer analysts.  It is rewarding to assist them as they develop a strong work ethic and take pride in their hard work and dedication.

  4. How do you give back to the community?

One of my favorite organizations to volunteer for is Colorado Feeding Kids.  Their mission is to provide nutritious food to impoverished people in Colorado and around the world.

  5. What are your hobbies and interests?

My husband and I love to travel. We just returned from Spain.  I also enjoy skiing, hiking, and going to concerts. This year my husband and I have attended almost 30 live music events.  I learned how to snowboard when I was 26, broke my arm when I was 29 (took some time off), and learned to ski when I was 36.  I now only ski!

  6. Tell us about your family.

I am the youngest of 6 children, the only redhead, and the only one to relocate from Pennsylvania.  I met my husband Tim on a blind date in Pennsylvania in 1992.  We were married in Pennsylvania in 1997.  In 1998, the company I worked for relocated us to Colorado. We just celebrated 24 years in Colorado and our 25th wedding anniversary is November 21st.  We have two children.  My oldest, Joey is an EMT and works in Golden, Colorado.  He was just accepted to the Paramedics Program at Arapahoe Community College and is excited to continue his education and help people in need.  My daughter, Ella, is a sophomore at the University of Oregon.  She is studying Journalism and hopes to spend a summer in London studying abroad.

  7. What is your favorite dessert?

When visiting the east coast, New York Cheesecake, anywhere else Carrot Cake takes first prize.
